About Me
My passion for journalism has been instilled in me for most of my life. From my love of movies came my passion for videography and cinematography. From my love of biopics came my passion for writing and research. From my love for learning and informing came my passion for journalism. In my work in both university and in my part-time placements, the high quality of it is only testament to my passion for the industry. In my portfolio, you can find my work for writing, editing and filming as well as instances of where I lead media teams to produce consistent high quality content.
Work Experience
Head of Media for UCFB Etihad Academy Mens 1st Team (2022-2023)
I started as a media operative for the UCFB Etihad Academy Mens 1st Team in 2nd year of my undergraduate course. I learned how to use industry standard cameras and mics for highlights and interviews. I edited these pieces later for the team's socials. I later became Head of Media where I used my knowledge to lead a team of five to produce consistent content including team graphics on multiple social platforms as well as producing live match updates.
Freelance Writer for FromTheSpot (2023)
In this freelance remote role, I wrote several match previews and reports for Premier League matches as well as the 2023 Women's World Cup. My work was posted online within minutes of the final whistle.
Sports Writer for Manchester Evening News (Placement 2024)
In this week long placement, I wrote an average of three articles a day for the MEN Sportsdesk. I mostly wrote opinion pieces on Manchester City, but occasionally news lines for both City and Manchester United. 13 articles of mine were posted on the MEN website with the first article I wrote being posted in the paper the following day.
Education
2020-2023
UCFB Etihad Campus- Football Business and Media
I achieved a 2:1 grade after finishing three years taking my undergraduate degree. In that time, I produced a radio and news package which was later featured in a TV show I wrote the script for. I later wrote my dissertation on fan perceptions at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
2024-2025
The University of Salford- MA Journalism: Sports
I am currently undertaking a masters degree at the University of Salford where I have helped edit on two independent projects, including a political studio TV show and a documentary on political polarisation. The latter of which I travelled to London for to record crowds for footage to be used. I am editing trailers for the documentary's marketing and will edit the intro and context sections of the documentary which comes out next year.
